  1. Well done sir! Good analysis. A few points here. First of all, during my working career as a senior manager for a global conglomerate where i was myself responsible for 650 people, I as CEO of my business region and all my colleagues were not allowed by compliance rules to provide any gift to a government or public employee exceeding 15 euros in value. Regarding the private sector clients, if we offered entertainment by way of thanks such as hospitality eg., tickets / boxes for sporting events we would need individual approval from Compliance and we would be required to advise our customers that these gifts were taxable in the UK as a benefit in kind. Have these substantial ‘gifts’ been declared to the ~Inland revenue? If not, why not. I would love to know.
