Society collapses, because creative people can not be made to create by force. Instead, they form an alternate, secret society in Galt's Gulch. The honest creators, the best entrepreneurs, scientists, artists and workers trade with each other in peace.

@bambooqueue9093 It is a lot like 1984, but it is MORE. If you are a talented, creative and individualistic person, this book makes YOU the hero. It is about your struggle against a collectivist society that wants to harness your life to the yoke of the group. This book gives you sanction to live your life by your own standards, and for your own rational self interest. It is really life-changing. Rand wrote many books. If Atlas is still daunting to you, try The Fountainhead. But if you are a hard-working, self-reliant individualist, you should read some Ayn Rand. You won't regret it.
