  1. I always vote Libertarian, even if I know the L will lose. Here is my reasoning: the odds that my single vote will change the outcome of the election are essentially nil, since in elections with more than about 10,000 votes cast, it has never happened before that the margin of victory was one vote. My single vote therefore lacks the power to keep the greater of evils out of office. What then can my vote do? It can make me feel good or bad. That's it. For me, voting Libertarian makes me feel good. I feel like I have voted in accordance with my values. I never "hold my nose and vote for the lesser of evils" and then go home and take a shower. That would leave me feeling bad. I only vote for a candidate if they rise to my standards. I often leave races blank. I know that if I vote for someone who wins, I must accept a share of blame for all the evil things they might do while in office.
