  1. Marxist video. The unbreakable glass is more expensive. People did not want to pay more money. They preferred the cheaper glasses they would have to replace, cheaply, if they broke. And now they use the glass in high value applications in cell phone screens.

  2. The reason that East Germany was poor was NOT because it lacked raw materials. It was because socialism is much less efficient and production as free markets. Hong Kong has very few natural resources. But it became very rich through free trade and free markets. Socialism lead to poverty for East Germans. People wanted to flee, but the Berlin Wall and the Iron Curtain prevented them from leaving. Many were shot trying to escape.
