  2. The government will not protect you. The bureaucrats care only for keeping their cushy jobs. The politicians care only for their own power. You should not be surprised that the FTC is a paper tiger. It does not protect us. Instead, it has been captured by the industries it regulates. This is called regulatory capture, and it is an old, well-understood thing. Just like the FDA and CDC are owned by Pfizer. Same thing.
