Agreed. Turkey clearly does NOT meet NATO standards for membership, so it is high time the nation was expelled. Or at least its power to block new members or have a say in strategy suspended.

Yeah, since Turkey doesn't even meet the standards for joining NATO anymore, it's membership should be put on probation. Namely, the ability to block new members or have a say in strategic planning is suspended until they are once again in compliance.

user I don't blame the people of Turkey for the crimes of Erdogan's government. He has subverted the system established by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk to become a dictator not much different from Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko of Belarus.

@askosefamerve Calling someone you disagree with a racist is not an argument, it just proves you cannot debate the merits. Further, I seriously doubt that you are from Turkey as your gay pride flag profile image calls that into question. The Muslims in that part of the world are well known for throwing gays off the top of buildings. And Erdogan is very much part of the Salafist take on Islam. @askosefamerve Salafists ARE Islamists, the only difference is degree of violence. You are making a distinction WITHOUT much of a difference. "Soft" or "Moderate" jihadism as contrasted with total war militancy.
