@nathanaelsmith3553 Who was persecuted by the Trump administration. Provide names, dude. Secondly, you have not made any coherent argument is name-calling and gutter sniping insults. You are showing classic Trump derangement syndrome.
1
@worldwidewonders681 No, you are correct that the Russian Bear is now Geriatric. But that doesn't mean that China and the US can't be in a new cold war.
1
@dalekrenegade2596 Pot meet kettle.
1
@LoveFactorySweatShop Nelson Mandela proves otherwise. "Strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine," -Obi-wan Kenobi, "Star Wars: A New Hope".
1
@LoveFactorySweatShop So you are suggesting that the US is as autocratic under Biden as Russia is under Putin?
1
@Stone Beetle 006 🏳️⚧️ Because it rewards the people who caused the problems and punishes the taxpayers who had nothing to do with it.
1
@Stone Beetle 006 🏳️⚧️ Yes, they did. Why should the populace who are NOT responsible be forced to cover the losses caused by greedy bankers who extract from the system and put nothing of value into that system?
1
@Stone Beetle 006 🏳️⚧️ Oh, I agree that those who foolishly invested in the banks should lose their shirts, but not the individual depositors. Do keep in mind that a nationalized bank does NOT prevent all of this, it simply means unaccountable and unelected bureaucrats are the ones making these very same bad choices. And yes, the taxpayer ALWAYS loses money because the bailout NEVER get repaid.
1
@rjframe4410 Dodd-Frank CREATED the 2008 financial crisis, and this is a repeat of that. Glass-Stegal was put in place to prevent it until Dodd-Frank wiped out those protections.
1
@rjframe4410 No, it would not. It actually caused it. SVB is simply a repeat of the 2008 crisis due in no small part because the primary actors and players are the exact same people. Dodd-Frank is the cause of the problem. Before Dodd-Frank there were MUCH fewer bank failures, and they NEVER got this big. Glass-Stegal Act. Look it up and why Dodd-Frank demolished the protections that prevent these kinds of collapses.
1
Peter Schiff is part of the cabal that created the problem, so of course he has a solution. Only his solution doubles down on the problem. Glass Stegal is the ONLY solution that actually fixes the problem.
1
@joshjwillway1545 Evidence? Source of that claim? More KGB/Kremlin propaganda ala Operation: Infektion.
1
@Bolsonaro_em_Haia You are conflating Theodore Roosevelt with both Woodrow Wilson and Franklin Roosevelt.
1
Exactly. The people who cause the 2008 financial crisis orchestrated this current banking crisis. They are like locusts who devour everything, moving from one institution to another leaving disaster in their wake.
1
@teaser6089 Warmonger Nikki? You have to be joking. You want more of the same Bush era policies?
1
Hence why NATO is a thing. NATO allows non-nuclear nations to not fear a nuclear power because the US, UK, and France all have nukes to answer for them.
1
@MrDevDkn No, the Ukraine is not, but they wanted to join at one time. NATO members dragged their feet because they didn't want to provoke Putin, kind of like how they didn't want to provoke a certain German Chancellor some 90 years prior. Which goes back kind of to your point, either a country joins a nuclear armed defense organization or they develop their own nukes. One is much easier to do than the other.
1
Don't need to subsidize shale oil. The high prices alone are enough to kick-start the boom.
1
Hence why the voted for the bull in a China shop in 2016.
1
@unfairlive2 Because you are putting blame on the wrong party. What you call "modern capitalism" is essentially corporate oligarchism. And that oligarchy only exists with government protection in the form of bailouts. Try looking up the Glass-Stegal Act and how the Dodd-Frank Bill basically abolished those restrictions put in place to prevent another Great Depression.
1
@unfairlive2 That is a deflection and doesn't really address my point.
1
@unfairlive2 Your words remind me of a quote from the game Shadowforce: Archer by AEG. "It is getting harder and harder to tell where the enemy ends and we begin,"
1
@dedefazer Corporations, yes. Capitalist, no. Corporatists are oligarchs, not capitalists. Can you truly claim that Russia is capitalist? The people in charge of the US are just as corrupt as those in Russia.
1
@larryalvares1369 So you should be disbarred from office simply because of being accused? That sounds like election interference. Also, it would disbarred EVERYONE from ever running for office. There is a reason why English common law rejects Guilty until Proven Innocent.
1
I agree with you that we need to go back to the gold standard, though I don't think the Petro-dollar is truly dead.
1
With the exception of the UK, are they also not a part of ASEAN? You would think that particular economic forum would be the perfect avenue for a Southeast Asian equivalent of NATO.
1
@eibenstr3 Too diverse politically and economically? Might as well be describing the allied powers of World War 2. Or World War One for that matter. While I don't disagree that Burma is a basket case, having oscillated between military Junta and civilian rule under Aung San Suu Kyi, that does not mean the others could not do so. Politics and War makes for some REALLY strange bedfellows.
1
It is the result of megacorporations trying to protect their oligopoly. In try to keep the little guy down domestically, they created an even bigger threat. One they foolishly think they could control or reason with.
1
@Chad Zues It isn't stealing when you pay for it dude. But you have clearly never heard of "highway robbery".
1
Nelson Mandela became president of South Africa after serving an unjust prison sentence. The President of Brazil also spent time in prison.
1
A study of the Washington Naval Treaty of 1922 is a good example as to why disarming and regulations will not work. The Washington Treaty was the arms control treaty of its time.
1
Or to Shale oil. That is the bigger threat than green energy.
1
"Show me the man and I will show you the crime," -Beria, Stalin's head of the KGB/NKVD.
1
Yeah, Market Socialism is even less successful. How many examples of centralized planning and control do you need before you realize that it is just a pathetic pipe dream? Oh, and don't conflate Nordic SOCIAL DEMORACY with socialism. The two are NOT the same thing.
1
@pebblepod30 No, you are using those terms in the cultural Marxist perspective, not in their actual context. You accuse me of propaganda and yet you are guilty of doing exactly that, regurgitating Bolshevik talking points on cue like Pavlov's Dog. Your definition of capitalism is NOT free market but oligarchism which in practice has very little difference from Soviet Socialism. Just like Deng Xiaoping, you create oxymoron terms to "put lipstick on a pig".
1
@pebblepod30 " to the best of my current knowlwedge." Well, your knowledge is fundamentally flawed and woefully inaccurate. "I think you will find" is merely an OPINION, which is like an arsehole; everyone has one and they all stink. I do not disagree that the feudal elites are quite often the cause of many societal problems, and you would be correct in claiming that this has been the case since antiquity (going all the way back to ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia under Hammurabi). But unlike you, I view them as a necessary evil; you don't kill your golden goose, even if he does crap all over the furniture. "Your "freedom to exploit" claim is the quintessential strawman argument that comes straight out of Karl Marx, Vladimir Lenin, and Chairman Mao's little red book of Communist, hence why I call you are Marxist. Your "maximize power and profits" is yet another Bolshevik strawman argument. Capitalism Free Markets simply acknowledge basic truisms, one in particular being that centralized planning and control never works EVER. it also accepts that you CANNOT use force when engaging in trade. It also stipulates "buyer beware": you are responsible if you voluntarily enter into a bad transaction without doing your due diligence.
1
@pebblepod30 Some truths are self-evident. That socialism is a failed ideology is proof of that with the millions dead by the Bolsheviks in Russia, Ukraine and Poland stand as mute testament to that. As do the millions butchered by Pol Pot in Cambodia or starved by Mao in Red China. I find it very telling that you think you have experienced more than I have. Unlike most Westerners, I HAVE traveled abroad. I have seen the brutality and starvation of North Korea firsthand. I have seen the squalor in Indonesia. I have been exposed to the crime in Mexico. I have enjoyed the hospitality of Singapore and Japan. I will humor you and say that the US is the only country that I would want to live in though South Korea has a VERY special place in my heart. I would be content in Japan PROVIDED that I had a decent job and steady income. Having been outside the US, I understand that most Americans and by extension most EUROPEANS are spoiled children. I credit the Japanese and Koreans for being the most worldly of the Western nations. It should be to them that the West takes its cues, not Europe.
1
That is what command and control economies like Chiha does. Guess what? China's banks like Evergrande are in collapse.
1
@tobiwan001 US banks WERE regulated under the Glass-Stegal Act. But Dodd-Frank repealed those regulations and restrictions. The people in the White House are the very same people who wrote Dodd-Frank and orchestrated the 2008 financial crisis.
1
@armandomercado2248 Yes, you have been gaslighted by political activists who call themselves journalists. Your narrative has as much truth to it as the claims made against Nick Sandman and the Covington Catholic Students. Or the claims of Jessie Smollett.
1
@armandomercado2248 That is what the activists who want you to think. These are the same people who lies about Russian collusion. The same people who falsely claimed that Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation. You haven't actually listened to the phone call. You don't care about the facts or the truth. All you care about is your tribe winning. George Orwell pegged people like you perfectly. You do EXACTLY as your feudal masters tell you to do and what to believe without question.
1
@guyman1570 The fact that I take flak from both the Ukraine shills and the Kremlin bots must mean I am over the target. That is the problem with "useful idiots" as Vlad Lenin called them; they can't think for themselves and instead regurgitate talking points on cue like Pavlov's Dog. Who is the Russian asset now?
1
@jc3drums916 "Highest rates"? As compared to what? Total or just at that time? The fatality rates of that Virus are only marginally higher than the seasonal flu. Pharaoh of the 10 plagues and the Exodus is laughing at us.
1
@maityman317 So you basically admit that you are a shill for the Chinese CCCP. Nothing the PRC government said can be trusted.
1
Yeah, I think most of the nevertrumeprs went over to the Democrats back in 2016. Trump hasn't lost a single vote. He got MORE votes in 2020 than he did in 2016.
1
@chinguunerdenebadrakh7022 They never should have been given those bailouts. This is just throwing away money to like the pockets of the people who orchestrated the crisis.
1
The problem is that the current people in charge at the FDIC are going above and beyond that limit, rewarding the people who caused the crisis.
1
But the law DOESN"T come for some, only those who have the wrong political views.
1
@redsamson0023 Not even remotely the same thing. But not surprising from a rabid leftist.
1
@Catmint309 "Making shit up"? That is what nevertrumper like you have been doing since 2016. Get a new script. You are as predictable as Pavlov's Dog.
