I had no problems sending Ukraine our old and soon to be disposed of gear and equipment. I have ALWAYS been against the pallets of cash like Obama sent to Iran.

Socialism is predicated on the REJECTION of private property. The Old Soviet Union was a "Socialist Democracy". Don't conflate that with SOCAIL Democracy which still respects property rights. The two are clearly differentiated on that key element.

Those minerals are under the Donbas, meaning the ONLY way the West can collect is if Ukraine ejects Russia from the territory.

If that were true, then Kiev should have fallen the first week. The fact that the current was has gone for almost three years says otherwise. By your "unwinnable" logic, the American revolution was doomed to failure. As was Communist Vietnam's war against both the US and then Red China. or the Taliban's war against the US in Afghanistan. History is littered with underdogs who have won against a superior foe. Russia IS defeatable by Ukraine, but as pointed out, the West doesn't want to defeat Russia, simply grind it down by only providing "just enough" to Ukraine.

@ The first six months of the war, Ukraine was completely on its own save for the Javelins Trump sent. You grossly underestimate Ukrainian resolve, the same blunder as Putin.

Because no side wanted to escalate to an eventual conclusion. They forgot how to WIN wars.

Minerals that are under the Donbas. How are they going to collect if Ukraine is forced to hand over Donbas to Russia? It is like the agreements Shell made to drill for oil in Crimea.

@Shiva99333 Hence why NATO fixed defense spending to GDP and not to a dollar amount. Poland, Czechia and the Baltic States have ALL been in compliance since joining NATO. Interestingly, while the EU like to claim they provided more support than the US, 60% of the number they use is because they factored Poland, the Baltic States, and Czechia's contributions. Take them out of the equation and it doesn't look good.
