  8. Mr. Thomas is completely wrong about the wall. it is NOT 300 meters, but a mere 150 meters from the end of the runway. Second, the antenna is suppose to breakaway if impacted by an aircraft that has overrun the runway. But the wall and earth behind it prevented that., Third, just because a road is behind the fence doesn't mean a damn thing. It is called the perimeter road and EVERY airport has one. Almost every US airport has a chain-link fence instead of cement walls at the end of the runway specifically so they CAN breakaway safely. for a minimum of 610 meters of clearance for such a situation. This guy is not as smart as he claims to be. He has allowed himself as an "EDITOR" to act like he is a licensed aviation professional.

The victors trying to minimize and downplay what they did wrong while emphasizing and often exaggerating the wrongs of their opponents. Classic case I like to use is Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto. He was quoted as saying "you have to dictate terms to the US from the White House". American media for decades played this up as a jingoistic brag. In reality, he was warning Tojo and company the difficulty of making war on the US. Another example is that he is quoted as saying to his men after reading the after-action report on the Pearl Harbour attack: "Gentlemen, we have just kicked a rabid dog". Again, American media made it out to be an insult. In reality, he was making the observation that the sneak attack will have the same fatal result as if a rabid animal had bitten you. And there are several more examples littering history of such disproportionate analysis and hyperbole of the situation. Genghis Khan's brutality. The excesses of the Julio-Claudean dictators of Rome. The "peaceful and noble" nature of the heart eating Aztecs. et. al.
