You can vote your way into socialism, but you have to fight your way out of it.

@jcjaramillomo Look at the US economy under Trump's first 2 years and contrast it with Biden's first two years and you tell me which one was better for the US.
2
@jcjaramillomo Not as much time as you thing. The markets react to election results in less than a week. it is much easier to destroy an economy than it is to build it up. And all of that is true not just in the US but around the world.

@6thsense79 While I don't disagree about corporate hacks manipulating tax law to benefit them, ALL attempts to have a "progressive" tax structure makes the inequality WORSE, not better, which is what the neo-feudalists want. Attempts to "spread the wealth" and directly fight income inequality ALWAYS makes it worse, not better. Income inequality will ALWAYS exist as effort is the primary factor in a truly open and free market (namely, one that has ZERO government intervention).

@Judaism44 I think you are conflating socialism with social democracy. The two systems are NOT the same. And yes, the claims that "capitalims has failed and socialism has never been tried" is the classic "No True Scotsman" fallacy.

Because it is easier to fool people by claiming politics is a linear spectrum rather than a tesseract.

@cjlooklin1914 And your point? Wealth is not something to be ashamed of. As Confucius observed, in a country poorly managed, wealth is something to be ashamed of, while in a country wisely managed, it is being poor that is shameful.

@cjlooklin1914 Yeah, and you seem to forget that there were numerous loopholes that made those claimed tax rates effectively lower than they claimed on paper. Ben Shapiro has time and again debunked your false claims about the 90% corporate tax rate. You are pushing the same great lie that all neo-socialists claim. For one, only people who made over $200,000 (1950s, not adjusted for inflation) paid that rate. The UK tried doing that in the 1970s and it practically demolished their economy. When effective taxes rates are greater than 50%, NOBODY works. Art Laffer and the Austrian School of Economics has been proven correct time and again, and not just with the US economy.

@6thsense79 And you are not telling the full story. Investments, particularly capital gains are DOUBLE TAXED. First when the company makes the profit, then again when those profits are distributed to the shareholders. In effect, the government gets TWO bites at the apple. So, stop complaining about the very tax system you and yours demanded and got not producing the very revenues you foolishly believed it would produce. Your math never takes into account the human reaction to your attempts to steal their money via taxation. "It is increasingly clear that no matter what party is in power, so long as our national security needs keep rising, AN ECONOMY HAMPERED BY RESTRICTIVE TAX RATES WILL NEVER PRODUCE ENOUGH JOBS OR PROFITS" -President John F. Kennedy.

@6thsense79 Pot meet kettle. It is clear you subscribe to the neo-Marxism of Keynesian economics which has time and again been proven wrong. I however am a follower of the Austrian school of economics pioneered by Karl Menger and confirmed by the likes of Fredric Hayek, Ludwig von Misses, Art Laffer, Milton Friedman and Thomas Sowell. You accuse me of not understanding and yet you keep parroting the talking points of theorists who have ZERO experience in economics. Your small business owner knows more about economics than your college professor. It doesn't take an "expert" to understand tax law and know that the bureaucracy which you are defending and the high tax rates that go with such a machine of government is what destroys an economy and a society.

Maybe because left wing politicians and policies never deliver on their promises? And don't say it has never been tried, because Biden is just continuing the disastrous left-wing policies of Obama and Carter.

@ky6632 Yeah, their Trump derangement syndrome is blinding them to accurate analysis.
