@ArchonLicht Government takes from the private sector, then resells it? Think about what you just said. Oh, and Zimbabwe did just that under Mugabe. How did that work out?
3
The point isn't to stop it completely, but to make it onerous and burdensome. When the cost of your favorite soda doubles, that becomes quite noticeable.
3
@ArchonLicht I am comparing ANY nationalization or government confiscation of private business to Venezuela. The result is ALWAYS the same.
2
West choses to work with winners? Tell that to Iran or the Taliban.
2
I am all for the Indians taking advantage of Russia.
2
Oil from Russia used to go through Ukraine. Me thinks that if the oil is still flowing, the Ukrainians are syphoning off a portion.
2
Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Philippines, and Taiwan are white? Dude, you need to get better talking points than just racism.
1
@VladimirPutin-p3t I see what you did there. My guess is that he honestly thinks Dihydrogen Monoxide is a poison.
1
@memesofproduction3 You forget the secondary sanctions that get the rest in line. Your naivety is astounding.
1
What you consider "proper alternatives" is not necessarily what they consider acceptable alternatives. LNG for the US is a viable one for many nations in Europe. Only Germany is against it because their insane green movement is also against nuclear power.
1
Russia's economy is barely the size of Italy. Throwing them out of Swift hurts Russia more than it does the rest of the World.
1
@igory3789 You are grasping at straws. An economy barely the size of Italy doesn't change global trade as drastically as you claim.
1
@igory3789 Nice gish gallop there. Big on fancy words but lacking in any depth nor actual understanding. Most of your talking points are the same ones used by the "White Monkey" shills that China's CCP regularly employs .
1
@ArchonLicht Governments who seize private assets invariably destroy them. Or have you forgotten what Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela?
1
Indeed. Unemployment doesn't take into account people not looking for work. Considering that the MOD is issuing draft notices to places of employment, that is an incentive by Russian men to NOT hold a steady job.
1
@j.k.1239 Put down the vodka, Private Conscriptovich, you are so drunk you are hallucinating. Have you forgotten the mass exodus of Russian men to avoid the conscription (ie Putin's draft order)?
1
@dragosstanciu9866 Only because Putin can't accept that his dreams of imperial conquest are over.
1
If Russia could have ended the war, Kiev would not still stand. Putin could call home his forces and end it all but he won't. He is hurting Russia more than he is Ukraine's allies.
1
If sanctions don't work, then why has it been relatively successful with neutering Iran's Airforce? The point of sanctions is to make the cost of doing business more burdensome. It is basically economic warfare.
1
Many went to the central Asian Republics where they were NOT particularly welcome.
1
US agents bride Putin? That is some really strong Vodka you are drinking. Putin's Invasion of Ukraine is no different than the German annexation of Czechoslovakia in the 1930s or their invasion of Poland shortly thereafter. The biggest advocates for Ukraine have been the Poles because they know firsthand what happens when you appease a dictator.
1
@МаксимСоколов-д4я Funny, because the deaths of civilians are a direct result of Putin's "little Green Men" entering the Donbas. Further, the casualties quadrupled AFTER the Russian drive to Kiev. If anything, that is the Russians fault, not the Ukrainians.
1
Nagorno-Karabakh is not Armenian. Sto pushing fictions.
1
And the fact that Russia doesn't have the storage capacity. Oil can freeze in the pipes.
1
@ABanRocks It may be hurting Europe, but Gas Station Putin is feeling it harder. India and China are ripping off Russia.
