And why my father left the Presbyterian Chruch (PCUSA).

@andrelotscher280 He won the popular vote. You are on the wrong side of history.
40
@daysrcdays I saw nothing of those verses in that "Bishop's" words. All I saw was Luke 11, Matthew 20 and Mark 12's warnings about the Woes of the Pharisees.
14
@petercullen1624 Woe of the Pharisees. Read Mark chapter 12, Matthew Chapter 20, and Luke Chapter 11.
11
@BlockYTCensorship Where in the gospels did he say ANY of that. Cite the book, chapter and passage. You can't because he NEVER said anything like what she said. if anything, Mark, Luke, and Matthew would point out the Woe of the Pharasses which is what she just did.
7
@BlockYTCensorship You can't even cite which gospel as the source. You are ignorant. "I never knew you, begone from me you workers of lawlessness!"-Jesus of Nazareth, Matthew 7:23
6
Yes, but it also requires repentance for sin (violations of the law aka the Ten Commandments). Grace requires remorse otherwise it is meaningless.
5
@DramaMustRemainOnTheStage Had they left, about half the congregation would have followed them out. It would have humiliated that Bishop and embarrassed the Epicostle Chruch.
5
@ And you only proved you are a bigot. Hate on white men is no longer tolerated.
5
NO, she did not. She was pushing false witness and malice. Hers is the woes of the Pharisees that the Nazarene warned against in Luke 11, Matthew 20, and Mark 12. Read your Gospel and you would NOT agree with ANYTHING she said.
3
@ You can claim anything you want online, but that doesn't make it true. I citied specific chapters, you just responded with a temper tantrum like a spoil child.
3
@CityBoyNYC You clearly have never read the Bible. Her words come NOT from the gospels but from the Woe of the Pharisees. "I never knew you. Begone from me you workers of lawlessness!" -Matthew 7:23
3
@ "I never knew you. Begone from me you workers of lawlessness!" -Matthew 7:23 Jesus of Nazareth DID say THOSE words. He also said "It is said my house shall be a temple of prayer, but you turned it into a den of thieves!" He then proceeded to make a whip of cords, overturned the tables, and chased out the money changers. I'm guessing you purposely ignore those dirty little details because it doesn't comport with your politicized view of Christianity for the sake of temporal power.
3
@petercullen1624 Read Luke 11, Matthew 20, and Mark 12. Hers is the woe of the Pharisees. Practically to the word what the Nazarene chastised of false preists.
2
Woe of the Pharisees in her words.
2
@ Actually it is. Hers was the moral grandstanding that the Nazarene called out. BTW, it appears that the church removed her from the position for her actions, which means even they believed it was out of line further making your defense of her pathetic and untenable.
2
@Lucylou7070 Or the Woe of the Pharasees in Luke 11, Mark 12, and Matthew 20.
2
One of the favorite disguises of the great deceiver.
2
Yeah, funny how nobody had a problem with Joe Bite-Me or Hilrod did that. You whine when Trump does the same thing they did. Your mask is slipping.
2
That wasn't a prayer, that was an invocation to power, a canticle to the prince of hate. it is the very blasphemy that the Nazarene warned about in Luke 11, Matthew 20, and Mark 12.
2
@alicesnyder5394 Yeah, my understanding is that the Presbyterian Chruch of Colorado Springs broke from PCUSA and joined in fellowship with the Ethiopian Presbyterian Chruch. Funny how that works when the faithful put scripture first.
2
Had Trump and Vance walked out, likely half of the people in attendance would have followed them.
1
Good is evil and evil is good. How Orwellian of you. But alas, it was warned in scripture that at the end of days good should be called evil and evil called good.
1
@ He often acts as an apologist. "The Hottest Places in Hell Are Reserved for Those Who in a Period of Moral Crisis Maintain Their Neutrality" -JFK's favorite quote by Dante.
1
@AndyNYouTube Wrong. You can't win the popular vote WITHOUT getting a simple majority. And Trump's margin of victory was over 3 million. You need to touch grass.
1
@malcolmxivm Yes, you are reading leftist propaganda.
1
@AndyNYouTube Cite the specific passage in the gospels. You can't because you know you are lying. "I never knew you, begone from me you workers of lawlessness!" -Matthew 7:23
1
@ Cite the passage in the gospels. You can't because you don't know them. You teach a false doctrine. "I came NOT to overturn the law, but to fulfill it," -Matthew 5:17 "I never knew you. Begone from me you workers of lawlessness!" -Matthew 7:23
1
Depends. Short of blasphemy, repentance and remorse will bring mercy. What she did was the Woe of the Pharisees.
1
Go read your Bible. What she said was warned against in Mark 12, Matthew 20, and Luke 11.
1
@ Funny, because that is NOT what she was saying. If anything, she was being the Pharisee on the corner boasting of her righteousness. "I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Begone from me you workers of lawlessness!" -Matthew 7:23 "It is said my house shall be a temple of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves!" He then made a whip of cords, overturned the tables, and chased out the money changers. -Luke, Mark, Matthew AND John. "“Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you." -Matthew 21:31
1
Because butch want to be male. Now don't get me wrong, there are some short haircuts like the bob that are cute, particularly on Asian women. But most of the woke crowd take it MUCH shorter than that.
1
Tru dat. "Vengeance is MINE saith the Lord, I WILL repay."
1
You have more grace than I. I respect you for your portion in heaven will be greater than mine as I cannot pray for those who are NOT repentant.
1
One would hope.
1
"It is said my house shall be a temple of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves!" he then made a whip of cords, overturned the tables and chased out the money changers. Seems you forget that part because it run counter to your fake narrative about the Nazarene.
1
He also said "I came NOT to overturn the law, but to fulfill it." He was liberal insofar as he opposed the corruption of hierarchy in religion. He gave much praise to those of faith and sincerity.
1
You got it bass ackwards. Politics are to be kept out of the church, not the other way around. Read the Federalist Papers on the subject.
1
I see you have read your Bible. Now if only more people trying to defend her would do the same.
1
My father was Presbyterian as was his father going back just as far. But he left the church for the very crap this "Bishop" pushes being sanctioned by PCUSA. I hate to say it but these organized churches are lost. Only by walking away and reforming associations from the group up can restore faith in America.
1
The Nazarene warned against the Woe of the Pharisees which is exactly what she did. Try actually reading the gospels instead of lecturing from ignorance.
1
"Amen I say to you the harlots and the tax collectors will enter heaven before you," -Matthew 21:31 How about you look at the ENTIRE chapter, not just pick and choose that which supports your political agenda.
1
Indeed. Forgiveness is pointless without REPENTANCE. Grace is wasted without remorse.
1
And half of the people there would have followed them out if he had.
1
People always forget that last part. He even warned that the harlots and tax collectors would enter the kingdom of heaven before the Pharisees BECAUSE THEY REPENTED.
1
Yeah, but if he and Vance had, I would bet over half of those in the sanctuary would have followed them out, humiliating that "Bishop".
1
That wasn't a pray for peace. That was an invocation of power warned against in Luke Chapter 11, Matthew 20, and Mark 12. Woe of the Pharisees is what she just did.
1
No, she did not. She spoke the woe of the Pharisees which the Nazarene chastised in Luke 11, Matthew 20, and Mark 12. Go read your gospels.
