@reliablereindeer The US was strong during the Cold War. Otherwise, we would not have outlasted and more importantly, outproduced the USSR. Sadly, those who resisted the Soviets now look at their own people as the enemy and Russia's "little brother" Red China as their allies. Tells you how far the nation has fallen.

What is the difference between organized crime syndicates and government? Not much. Narco States are how cartels become governments.

The US military is now the defenders of the corruption. The flag officers are all a part of the cabal having betrayed their oath and used their positions to promote political agendas while punishing their subordinates for doing the same. There is a very good reason why generals never lead military coups. It is always the Lt. Colonels, Majors, and Captains who do, backed by competent mid-level NCOs.

Indeed. Rather than go with the "angry white man" shtick, the calm and almost whispering voice is much more effective.

Matt Peterson You are correct, he succeeded in dividing us like nobody had before. He succeeded in rolling back 50 years of race relations. He did fundamentally change America.....for the worse.

@reliablereindeer If Hiroshima and Nagasaki have proven anything, it is that the fears of nuclear holocaust and nuclear winter were grossly overblown. Incidentally, the US ALWAYS had the advantage over the Soviets in every area except for submarines. That was the ONLY place where they outnumbered the US. But then, their Boomers were not particularly good. The Oscar-class proves how quantity did not equal quality.

@frankpaya690 So the Korean War in 1950 wasn't part of the Cold War? Vietnam was not either? You seem to be watching too many Hollyweird revisionist history. Nixon used the Sino-Soviet Split between Mao and Leonid Brezhnev along with Nikita Khrushchev in a gambit to benefit the US against the Soviets. The problem is, Red China never had any intention of being our ally. They simply wanted to replace the USSR as the patron of world communism. And they cleverly used us to succeed in that endeavor.

All of the flag officers need to be tried for treason. They broke their oaths and sabotaged our ability to defend ourselves.

Voting hasn't solved the problem. For over 12 years the Tea Party has been trying that only to fail spectacularly. Getting new people into office will not fix the problem because as soon as they get there, the receive the frontal lobotomy and become part of the problem. Time to change up what we are doing.

@stevenx399 The Chi-Coms have already declared they will reunite Taiwan with the Mainland before the 100th anniversary of the conclusion of the Chinese Civil War. It is not a matter of if but WHEN.
1
@stevenx399 Taiwan is never going to conquer the mainland. That is a fool's dream. Why it IS our concern has to do with our number four trading partner (number one before our politicians sold us out): Japan. If Taiwan falls, South Korea and Japan soon follow. If you don't think that the loss of them won't have a major impact on the US economy, then you don't know who supplies your fancy technology.

Matt Peterson Netflix, the same company that brought you "Cuties" the glorification of paedofilia. Yeah, keep digging yourself into a deeper hole.

Matt Peterson Old news but they are still exploiting children. Bad old news doesn't get better with time, it gets worse.

Louise Bozagie Spare me your moral outrage. I will NOT apologize for speaking the cold hard truth. You are simply being emotional like a classic Karen.

Putin is NOT our friend. But he does not have to be our enemy either. We can have a "friendly" rivalry much like in sports where we try to outdo each other without getting violent (basically counting coup, but without militarily provoking each other).

I am okay with drafting women.....Into the reconstituted WAACs, WAVES, and WASPs of WW2. Every woman manning the short batteries here on the home front puts another man on the front line.

Yeah, but the issue goes to the 1991 agreement by which we pressured Ukraine to hand over their nukes to Russia.

The problem is that people HAVE voted. For 12 years they have, and it is not moving the dial. Time to change up what is being done. Just voting in new people is not fixing the problem, it is simply moving the deck chairs on the Titanic.

The only reason why Iran doesn't have them is because of the diligence of Mossad. It is the Israelis who are keeping them in check. That being said, we have no business getting into a spat with Iran. Let the Saudis deal with them.

Short answer: no. Longer answer: We MIGHT be able to fight one of them, but not both at the same time. My priority would be Taiwan as their defeat will be the first domino that then proceeds to knock over South Korea and Japan pushing the US out of the Asian-Pacific region.

Naturalized citizens are required to pass a citizenship test. The Constitution needs to be amended to make passing that test mandatory for voting. I helped my Chinese-Indonesian wife pass that test with a perfect score.
