Indeed. They could have helped the US to keep the Taliban from retaking power. Instead, they turned a blind eye and did nothing. They are upset? They have only themselves to blame for driving out the folks who were protecting their rights.

They will not. They had 20 years to secure their rights and did nothing. They did not lift a finger to prevent the Taliban from retaking power. They made their bed, now they can sleep in it.

@Iknowthismeme You must not be paying attention. The US supplied the Mujahideen with weapons in the 80s to fight the Soviets. When the Taliban took power in the 90s, the US had long since stopped giving weapons to that part of the world. The Taliban was in for a rude awakening when they thought they could use US made Stingers against US aircraft; it only gave away their position for a retaliatory strike. The more recent weapons the Taliban acquired were CAPTURED, not given. Why the hell would we give weapons to an active aggressor? Your logic is fatally flawed on that. But I get it, you want to blame the US for all of the world's woes instead of considering that there really is true evil in the world. You cannot possibly contemplate that the US is the only one trying to actually do something to address them, unlike most countries in the world. You may despise the US, and that is fine. But the world is less safe without the US. You bite the hand that feeds you.

Brave? Where were they when the Taliban drove the Americans out? It was the blood of Americans who gave them their liberties and they didn't lift a finger to help preserve them.

They had years to help the Afghan government stabilize the country while the US was there. Why did they not lift a finger to help keep the Taliban from retaking power? Why did they stand by as the US was driven out? They made their bed.

Why were they not willing to risk their lives while the US military was there? Why were they not willing to defy the Taliban before this? Why is it only now when the US is gone that they now suddenly have buyer's remorse?
