  1. I come from an American Military Family, and we are all about punctuality. Hell, for us, to arrive less than 15 minutes before the appointed time is considered crass. All has to do with the idea that you do NOT want the miss the boat when it pulls out of port without you. In that regard, we are much like our Germanic forbearers. Ironically, during my time in Korea, I would often irritate potential love interests with my anxiety over timeliness. Even today, my Chinese Indonesia wife gets irritated with me when I am urging us out the door because we are 5 minutes past the time she said she wanted to leave.
