  4.  @lynngreen7978  You clearly hold the legacy material in reverence. Kurtzman and company hold it in complete contempt. That is why fan works such as yours I am more gracious with; as a fan project it does not harm the IP. My vitriol with Paramount and Kurtzman is because they abuse the copyright as a bludgeon to force their trash on the IP as if holding the IP somehow makes theirs more legitimate. Axanar Project is Canon and Kurtzman Trek is corporate fanfiction. Change my mind.

  5.  @yurikendal4868  Copyright protection means that creators who COULD build and expand on the IP are prevented from doing so, even if they don't monetize it. The holders of the copyright monopolize it. While that makes perfect sense for INDIVIDUAL CREATORS, corporations have exploited and abused that monopoly for the financial benefit not of the original creator but their own plundering selves.
