100 years? The state of Israel only came into existence in 1948 and has been fighting for its very survival against Arab aggression that entire time.
25
Israel doesn't control Gaza's border with Egypt. If they can't leave via that route, then whose fault is it really?
22
@fking66 He was right to be condescending because she was being completely unprofessional. All she did was ask loaded questions (logical fallacy).
20
Would not surprise me. One of the stipulations for membership is not having ongoing territorial disputes. That is what put the Georgian admission on indefinite suspension after the 2008 invasion.
17
The Arabs who call themselves Palestinian already HAVE a state. It is called Gaza. And what have they done with it since the IDF left in 2005?
15
@thedstorm8922 Not at the time they were admitted. The dispute is a recent development encouraged by Erdogan and the Turkish Nationalists looking to deflect attention from the failing domestic policies.
13
@Charlie0l9 Ah yes, the infamous Molotov "bread baskets". The Finns answered with cocktails.
11
@andrewnorris5415 Ukraine has captured in one week more territory than Russia took in over a year. Cope harder.
8
No tank is invincible. Do keep in mind that the crews of those Challenger tanks are alive and well unlike the crew of the turret tossing Soviet Tanks.
7
@ArsenAl-zorK Armenia already had clearly defined borders. Why did they need to go into Azerbaijani territory? The "ancestral homeland" doesn't hold water when there is already a sovereign Armenia state. Yours is the ridiculous take.
7
@Balenza345 And what did Russia do in that same period? Get their clocks cleaned by the Chechyans way worse.
6
"To prepare for peace, arm for war" -Roman saying. "War is the continuation of politics by other means," -Carl von Clausewitz.
6
The destruction of historical buildings and monuments constitutes at minimum War Crime. Could be argued that this rises to the level of crime against humanity with how pervasive, methodical, and institutionalized the destruction is.
6
@engliterra355 And pray tell, how is the Moskva going to defend your internal sea?
5
Your "best and brightest" couldn't even find Gaza on a map. Your "Best and brightest" are creatures of pure emotion who would never survive if they actually had to live in Gaza.
5
From the Russian side of the damn? It is so easy to poke holes into your claims.
5
@maestro6458 Other than bargaining chips at the negotiation table. The return of Kursk Oblast for the return of Kherson and Zaphoresia Oblasts.
5
@alvinhang8721 Cost benefit. Those missiles were cheaper than the ships. It is like trying to shoot down a quad-copter drone with a patriot missle.
5
What a disgrace to ignore Hamas' own war crimes.
5
@TheCrazyMoparDude68 Yes Egypt lost the Gaza. But Israel also agreed to vacate Gaza for peace, which is why these calls for Palestinian Statehood are insincere as are the calls of "land for peace".
5
@Blackcat-k9e ONE missile hit the sub, the other hit the amphibious landing ship. That lease one missile unaccounted for. And that assumes that 10 missiles were fired. Russia has a habit of exaggerating the numbers to make themselves look good. There is a word for that: Varenyo.
5
Taqiyya, Tawriya, Muruna and Kitman.
4
@miamianz Let us hope they scrap them. They could end up salvaged like the Mahan Class-Destroyers, USS Downes and USS Casin were after the Pearl Harbor Attack.
4
A lot of the strife can be directed at Joseph Stalin who PURPOSLY put Azeri SSR and Armenian SSR territory within the other's area. Naxçıvan in particular was his doing.
4
@mrweb2009 Funny, because the UN has also said since 1948 that Israel has a right to exist, something that the Arabs calling themselves Palestinian have refused to accept.
4
Put down the vodka Russia bot.
3
Standard procedure. Look at how they acted in Grozny.
3
Tora! Tora! Tora! is so much better than that garbage movie.
3
Weather balloons don't usually have gondolas the size of three city busses.
3
Then why the gondola the size of three city buses?
3
Indeed. Japan's Fu-Go balloon bomb from WW2 has been proven as a viable weapon by the Chinese.
3
@alexnik1181 That is hyperbolae. Yes, Ukraine is taking lots of prisoners, but there is no need to make absurdist claims.
3
@aceman0000099 Actually, Kaiser Germany defeated Russia during the winter in Operation Faustschlag.
3
From the Russian side of the river?
3
Imagine putting bombs on a balloon and sending it towards the US. Oh, wait, the Japanese did just that starting a number of forest fires during WW2.
3
@borgri9125 I agree. Take the restrictions off the weapons and allow Ukraine to target military facilities on Russian soil.
3
It has only been a month and a half. The Normandy Campaign in WW2 was 5 months. Blitzkreig is an aberration, not the norm.
3
Nice apples to oranges false analogy.
3
Well, don't forget that Canada and Norway have been sending cold weather gear since August. The Russians are not even properly equipped with summer combat gear.
3
The Azeris are mostly Muslim. The Armenian genocide was perpetrated by the Young Turks who were Islamo-nationalists. Hence the deeps distrust.
3
That is a total Operation Mincemeat move. I approve!
3
@trussmonkey5910 The Romans deported them from JUDEA in 73 AD after the Roman sacking of Jerusalem during the Jewish-Roman war. They then made up the name "Palestina" in an attempt to erase the history of JUDEA. The Jewish population was really only allowed to return to the region during the British Mandate period after WW1. The return only happened in earnest during WW2 and the period afterwards when Stalin started quietly persecuting Jews.
2
Why did the US evacuate Kabul? Why did the US evacuate Saigon? Use your head.
2
@thetaexali9550 So how does Russia evacuating Kherson make any difference? What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
2
Wishful thinking. The tide has turned against Russia. The fall of Isyum and the complete route of the First Army Tank Guards, the pride of Moscow is proof of that.
2
@MrB1923 Yeah, the retreat of the Russian Army in Kharkiv speaks for itself. The Russian Bear is Geriatric.
2
As opposed to the invalid currently in the White House?
2
Anglophobes never fail to disappoint me.
2
All four are alive and well. Can't say the same for a turret tossing T-72.
2
It does constitute a War Crime under the Geneva and Hauge conventions. But good luck getting the UN to enforce those statutes.
