@R' merac yes I do. It seems you need to go do research to check the price of that electricity vs the price the market is paying for each coin. (Hint: it is less than the price of bitcoin)

@R' merac the cost of bitcoin mining is actually less than the cost of all the gold mining globally. the value in bitcoin is giving the people of the world an alternative to central banking, which is extremely important in many parts of the world that have corrupt capital controls and rampant currency inflation. maybe there is an element of greed in wanting to keep wealth in your own control, outside the control of others, but I think that it's also extremely practical. If i have some mining computers in my house and I pay my increased electricity bill, are you going to come tell me that i can't mine and do what i want with my equipment and the electricity i'm paying for???? how exactly is bitcoin anti capitalism? bitcoin is the purist form of capitalism! no one is being coerced into use bitcoin! instead of governments with control of money, it is left to the free market! money is too important to be left in the hands of government anyways. did you know central banking one of the key mandates in the communist manifesto??
