I think the goal is to have a system that doesn't have this 4th function. It is precisely why bitcoin was invented.

In the US, many libertarians who believe in the first and second amendment very strongly are also huge bitcoin advocates. As prices stand now, bitcoin has fared better in the last week than any other asset.

XRP is definitely way more centralized compared to Ethereum. XRP simply can't work without the ripple company. Super centralized.

You can't prove a negative.

All we can say for sure is that Craig Wright is not satoshi. Craig Wright is a complete fraud.

Wrong because bitcoin is not a democratic system. As a user, I don't have any authority to "vote" to make incompatible changes to the bitcoin unless I want to go make an altcoin. For example, many people wanted to increase the blocksize of the bitcoin blockchain, but because it was an incompatible change, they went to go make an altcoin called bitcoin cash.

@garrettmckeown1863 no, the miners do not have voting rights. In 2017, we saw how the majority of miners wanted to implement larger blocks in Bitcoin, but they were unable to make it happen. They ended up having to go make an altcoin called Bitcoin Cash. They can only vote themselves off the island so to speak.

@pb25193 I see how you are thinking about it, but my supposition is that bitcoin can serve as a global unit of account once it is adopted on a mass scale for medium of exchange and store of value - but we are still in the speculation phase for another decade or so.
