MongolordD, you guys are lucky in Germany. The government has good policies so housing is among the cheapest of the advance economies. Here in USA we have lots of people who cannot afford rent and live in insecurity. Last year, we had about 1.9 million evictions compared to maybe 20000 in Germany. I know because I am a real estate investor. I would not make nearly as much rental return in Germany. My cousin married a rich German girl and they have a beautiful house in Berlin which is an awesome, walkable city. But they live mostly in America. I was surprised how much houses cost in Berlin, compared to the rent you can earn.

@stanvanillo9831 , I think you mean $12000 USD per square meter. Lower interest rates and financial manipulation have caused asset prices to skyrocket all over the world. Germans are lucky to enjoy low rents compared to the rest of the developed world.

Lala_ Land, sure you don’t desire NYC. I know people in the suburbs who like to disparage the city.... but when I do the same about suburbs and rural areas, they get all sensitive.

@Lala_ Land, yes, exactly. I costs more on the big cities because people want to live there. Supply and demand. Real Americans and real capitalists should automatically understand I’m being facetious here, haha
