I drove my share of all leaf spring trucks and they all had 8.25-20, 9.00-20, or the bouncy 10.00-20's on them hauling coal and slag with the old leaf springs and split rim Bias Ply 10.00-20's equaled a bouncing bronco day in and out of the mines to the steel mills or the power plant. You knew that you were working a 12/14 HR day back in the day before the electronic log book and the pencil βοΈ did all the work!π I hope you have a great afternoon and I miss driving the old Western Star cranking through the gears and splitting them up and down with the transmission and rear end both. Always loaded at the maximum weight and never over loaded!βΊοΈππ

Those trucks are a sweety honey hole to get a hold of a couple of those awesome classics to fix up enough to get them on the road. As for the aluminum frame idea was a multiple solution to multiple problems but never panned out. Supposed to eliminate the rusting out issue, cut down on the weight, help with the horsepower issues with being a weight reduction it would supposed help to the power to weight ratio so it runs a little bit better than the steel frame version. Can't say anything about what it did and what the difference between the two was , but I will say that it was not a solution because it didn't stick around long or appearing on multiple makes and models of heavy duty or medium duty trucks.

The lead repairs back in the day now that you are mentioning it again, some vehicles had so many repairs in the passenger side fenders that the cars would lean towards the passenger side from the springs being weak from use and age that the wife bumping into and dinging it all up equals so much lead it would literally lean towards the passenger side of the car.π

I need a few 1440 parts for a 91" I believe it is, it's the last of the ones from the end of International Harvester owning and being a big part of the ownership of the Cub Cadet company . I will have to check the Google out on how to determine the exact year of my tractor, I can't remember what the code decoding is for the serial number and model is. If you are able to answer back and help me out with a couple of leads and advice, I can guarantee you a subscription holder and possibly a donation or two now and then, sure that you have heard this one before but if you ask around I have helped build a couple of channels from scratch and I will doo it again. Great afternoon to you all today from the Pennsylvania Farm and Rust Belt country of the Western half of the state north of Pittsburgh and west of Indiana, plus being south of Clarion /Sharon, Pa. Hopefully you are able to get the ball rolling on what you have, want, and need to get done for your family and their's as well! God bless you all and enjoy your afternoon, Friday tomorrow and upcoming weekend! Thanks for getting the video out to us
