Sure, but that accounts for a MUCH smaller part of the crude consumption.

@kennordsfan1494 That doesn't mean I am incorrect. On average less than 10% is used for petrochemical products. That a new plant wants to crank that up to 60% that is totally fine. What is your problem?

Plastics is only a few per cent of oil use. Not really relevant and as long as it isn’t burned it is not really a concern regarding climate.

Well it is only logical because 70% of a barrel of crude is used for gasoline and diesel.
