Lol there we go again with the hydrogen stupidity. Come on guys, it is 2022. Hydrogen is over.
8
Battery electric busses are far cooler.
4
Nope it is not and will never be.
4
Because hydrogen cars are heavy already without batteries. It does not make sense.
3
@Neojhun Oh lol that is hilarious.
3
EVs will easily outlast hydrogen fuel cell cars.
3
@farishanafiah8461 Those numbers are based on nothing. EV batteries easily last 10+ years. In the meantime a fuel cell only lasts 200.000 miles.
3
Why?
3
Busses do fine on batteries.
3
@Scalbow95 Just laws of physics.
3
@xXAlmdudlerXx Guess what, it is far easier to install a bunch of fast chargers at the premises of a gas station.
2
@xXAlmdudlerXx All EVs sold these days can charge fast. Hydrogen refueling often takes far longer than a few minutes due to the limits of repressurization of the system.
2
Emissions would be at least 5 times higher than an EV due to super low efficiency + NOx emissions from the exhaust. The noise is also a huge downside.
2
@CarsofGlasgow Yeah I love it
2
There is no lack of energy at all. It will just be a matter of spreading out the loads, which is easy. An average EV needs less than 10 kWh per day.
2
Hydrogen vehicles require platinum, lithium, cobalt and nickel.
2
@G-Cam1 Spot on
1
@xXAlmdudlerXx Anything that can charge at DC current is fast charging. For most cars this is between 50 and 100 kW. This results in 30-40 minute charge to 80% which is fine.
1
@xXAlmdudlerXx efuels is EVEN WORSE than hydrogen when it comes to efficiency.
1
@xXAlmdudlerXx Electricity always involves emissions. Even renewable energy. There is zero reasons to choose intrinsically inefficient solutions like efuels.
1
@Neojhun Haha
1
Even if battery recycling could not be solved for a long time (which is not the case), electric cars are still the best solution by far. Yes, even on non-renewable electricity.
1
@timaustin2000 Good point.
1
Even if production was efficient, the rest of it still remains very inefficient.
1
@r.i.peperoniiiiroh9625 Not really. A heat pump consumes 1 to 2 kW so that is about 10% higher consumption. Data shows that most EV batteries are doing fine after many years of use and that EVs sell well on the second hand market.
1
@pokoco-op Hydrogen is made from electricity….
1
@shoryukenpower Exactly, EVs everywhere!
1
Won’t take long before you realize.
1
It’s impossible. That’s why.
1
@Scalbow95 Fuel cell vehicles are far more complex than EVs. I don’t think they are more reliable.
1
@Neojhun Exactly lol
