@andrea-dawn thankfully population will decline

@anthonymorris5084 Simple: because upfront cost is still higher.

@anthonymorris5084 Products like EVs and heatpumps have a direct effect on lowering CO2 emissions. Therefore subsidies and incentives are completely justified.

@anthonymorris5084 1. Jungles and forests?! You might be confused by agricultural practices. 2. Solar panels are extremely useful.
2
@Rudra-mm1qf Construction cost, construction time, operating cost, waste management, dependency of countries like Russia, China and Kazakhstan for uranium.
2
In most situations hydrogen is terribly inefficient and therefore batteries are a lot more effective in lowering CO2 emissions. Green hydrogen is required for fertilizer and steel production and possibly for synthetic aviation fuels.

Well the nice thing about electrification is that overall energy demand will decrease.
1
@anthonymorris5084 Because electric appliances like EVs and heatpumps are far more efficient.

Plenty of issues with it

Carbon tax is the solution.

@sandelu635 Of course it is too late, but that concerns all climate measures. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t implement it.

Already happening.

Lol recent history has proven that wind and solar massively dropped energy prices.
1
@anthonymorris5084 Well the statement ‘energy prises have skyrocketed’ is so laughable that it was totally justified. Just look up the day ahead prices in case of sunny or windy weather and you will see prices plummet or even become negative.
1
@anthonymorris5084 Just look at the electricity prices during sunny and windy days. Gas power stations are shutting off because the price is too low. Gas and renewables will remain a great combination for a quite a long time while renewables keep expanding.
1
@anthonymorris5084 And again you refuse to look at the actual numbers. And obviously ‘running a country on renewables’ is a completely different argument. The point was if renewables bring electricity prices down, which they do.
