  3.  @nicholaswjamrock  Whether you like the plant based products or not, that is not really relevant. You can get used to anything if you want to. The point is that production of dairy products is simply too inefficient and polluting. Making plant based alternatives is pretty much always less polluting. Not a single adult human needs milk to survive.

  5. Dairy farming on the scale it exists today also didn’t exist a century ago. Cattle is also a lot more damaging than pigs and chickens.

  9.  @nicholaswjamrock  The problem is that meat and dairy are by far the most inefficient ways of food production. That is why it is so important to eliminate it. Completely incomparable to rice production for example. Also: transportation emissions are only a tiny part of food production emissions. We simply know through research that plant based nutrition always causes far lower emissions, even if the food has to come from farther away, simply due to the much higher efficiency in production. Also, all the things you mentioned regarding the production of crops (land clearing , land preperation, planting, pest management , weed management, harvesting, storage, procesing, more storage, transprotaion distribution) is also involved in meat and dairy production as livestock eat plants BEFORE they are turned into meat and dairy.
