  11. The other problem with managed funds is that these experts constantly take their cut from the fund itself lowering it's gains. I did this experiment myself, the fund I invested in was very much outperformed by the S&P500 in my 3 year test period.

  18. I've also noticed this behavior that now Derek named for me, the CTR. Honestly, I've been youtubing from my inbox for a long time, because I'm fed up with the sensationalist titles. For example I watch a lot of financial education videos so youtube has been recommending me a video titled something like 401(k) is a scam until I pressed the not interested button. Not only that this title screams clickbait I don't live in the US so I don't have a 401(k). Yes, very bad recommendations, a lot of videos I've already seen, and there's a video called "world's largest jello pool", wtf? Why would I care about that! I'll stick to my inbox.

  26. I think that we can rule out the c/2 + āˆž case for a direction preferred by the universe because that would show up in the CMB. There would be a dark spec or dark half-circle or a dark half-sphere (depends on how do you define that preferred direction) on the COBE image. Or maybe the dark patch would be so tiny/slim we couldn't detect it. And, like others in this comment section, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the idea of a preferred anything. However I do like the idea of having different speeds of light in opposite directions in a quantum interaction, so if the speed of light is 1 then they would be in a superposition of the form cā‚|ā†‘> + cā‚‚|ā†“> and such a thing could explain entaglement (as a way for instantaneus communication) maybe even gravity (why it's harder to go away from massive things then towards them) and would definitely be included in a theory of everything like Derek says at the end of the video. But this is just speculation of course, I don't know nearly enough about quantum mechanics.

  28. When there is an eathquake it's not like the whole planet is shaking left-right or up-down, earthquakes are localized events and seismic waves so I would argue that there is no such thing as a "Marsquake" but there may be "earthquakes on Mars".
