  1. Seems to me Maldives would be best off by trying to develop friendly relationships with both India and China. I think that's what they call a win-win situation.

  2. In 2023, Maldives received 11% of their tourists from India, 10% from China, 11% from Russia, 29% from the EU, 4% from the US. However, back in 2019, before Covid, Chinese tourists made up 17%, the biggest share from any single country.

  3.  @maggiechan33  I'm sure they will. It will be interesting to see how long it will take before the Chinese tourist numbers are back where they were in 2019. That will be a sign that China's economy is doing well again.
