I don't think the US-China trade war had much impact on the development of this aircraft. Trump blacklisted Comac on Jan. 14, 2021 and Biden unlisted it on Jun. 3, 2021 for a total blacklist period of 141 days, or about 20 weeks. Not a big portion of the 15 years it took to deliver the first aircraft to China Eastern.

What China always likes to say: "It took America 48 years to develop the first commercial jet (from Wright brothers in 1903 to De Havilland Comet in 1951), but it only took China 15 years. This proves China is superior to America".

"Casualties - 29,996". That's a big exaggeration. 9/11 total casualties were around 3000 and that involved 3 aircraft, not just one. Total fatalities from AA Flight 11 were about 1700, most of course being office workers, not passengers.

Brazil founded Embraer in 1969 when the GDP/capita was only USD 400.- They started building small aircraft and then developed over time. They delivered their first regional jet in 1996, when GDP/capita was USD 5,000.- Don't get me wrong, it is a real achievement of China to have made the C919, but it is not unique.
