1: It's not a prototype, just a drawing 2: 240 containers is way too few to make it economically viable, unless the ship can be autonomous. A modern container ship carries 15,000 containers. It's a nice idea, but hardly groundbreaking. Freight used to be transported by ships with sails and the reason we shifted away from that was to save money. People who are willing to pay can probably bring tall ships back.

@Zsharma1 "what if you eliminate the cost of fuel???...then suddenly it becomes economically viable.." Highly unlikely. A perfect analogy: One big semi-truck versus 62 people on bicycles. Unless the cyclists are willing to work for free, it won't make economic sense. However, it's possible that in the future we can fuel our container ships in a 'green' way, but that's a long way off.

@wordimobi5765 "contemporary norms can be scaled down." It's not about norms, it's about getting stuff from A to B as cheaply as possible.
