  1. Every age has its charm. I was in Luang Prabang in 1997 and again in 2013, and I'd be happy to go back and visit again. Some things will be worse than before, some will be better than before, and some will be the same. That's called development.

  2.  @xx133  Look, this is only (or mostly) in Luang Prabang. There are so many other parts of Laos that will never be much affected by tourism. It's really no different from Venice in Italy, another city that is highly dependent on tourism. Both Venice and Luang Prabang will survive just fine.
