"We've been hit by 10% tariffs, so we have to mark up our prices by 10%". That doesn't make sense. It's the US importer who pays the tariff, not the manufacturer. If anything, they may have to LOWER their price by 10% in order to achieve the same sales volume. If they mark up their price by 10% and the importer then have to pay a further 10%, the final price will be 21% higher, leading to decreased sales.

@chrislee5685 "It excuses to jack up price". How does that make sense. You can't just raise the price and expect the same sales volume.

@chrislee5685 Fair point, but that is unrelated to the tariffs, which she mentioned as the reason for the price increase.
