  1. Who is calling these French protesters 'criminals'? Nor are they 'fighters for freedom', they are protesters who express their outrage. That is their right.

  4. Generally speaking, we have to increase the retirement age all over Europe. We can no longer afford to pay for pensions as people live longer and longer.

  5.  Noël Jacquerey  Yes, those are real problems, but where is the money going to come from? The system only works as long as a large proportion of the population works. As we begin our working life later (due to long education) and live long past our retirement, the proportion of working people to non-working people gets smaller and those who do work will have to pay a bigger and bigger share of their income for retirement. That cannot go on forever.
