People in China can probably remember that Chinese cities were like this 15 years ago. Chinese cities regularly topped the list of "World's most polluted cities". Remember the 2008 Beijing Olympics? They also did cloud seeding to make it rain, and they stopped all industrial activity and banned half of the cars from roads around that time. Later, in 2014, Beijing hosted APEC, and people talked about the sky being 'APEC blue' for a change. But now Chinese cities have blue skies much more often and the air quality has improved a lot. Based on that experience, we can probably expect India's large cities to be living with serious air pollution for the next 10-15 years. (btw, I ran half marathons in Shanghai in 2010 and 2012. The air pollution didn't bother me one bit).

@YanYuan397 "You really, honestly, sincerely think India's like China?" I'm talking specifically about air pollution in cities. Many other aspects of the two countries are different.

@keepgrinding23 True, but crop burning was also a problem in China back then.
