Nice development. Now, if they could only end the ridiculous security checks in metro stations, then we'd be getting somewhere. Oh, and also in railway stations. The amount of identity and security checks we have to go through really slows down the check-in process. Imagine you could take the metro to Hongqiao railway station and walk right down on the platform with just a single check (or even no check, like in Europe). Wouldn't that be something?

@ansa336 I know, but we didn't have them before 2010 (for metro), or before 2013, I think (for entering airports). Security check at immigration makes more sense, but it was much simpler before 9/11. Let's go back to the way things were before. Terrorism is not what it used to be.

@ansa336 Come on, we haven't had a terrorist or bomb incident in Beijing or Shanghai for over a decade. The last time we had any incident was in Shanghai Pudong Airport in 2016 when an angry old man lit a coke bottle with gasoline on fire and threw it. Nobody was killed. Another angry man blew up a bomb in Beijing airport in 2013. No one was killed then, either. Both of those men were Han, by the way, not Uighur. It was after those incidents that security got really tight. But I think it's time to roll back some of that excessive security. China is safe, don't worry.
