  1.  @acid1747  The section that was destroyed was built during the Ming Dynasty (1279-1644). The original wall from the Qin Dynasty 220 BC (2200 years old, not exactly 3000 years) has mostly eroded away completely. The other parts they showed, with all the tourists on them, were renovated/rebuilt during the 1980s and 90s. Things don't last forever.
