We often hear about Orban's adventures on foreign affairs. But I'd like to hear why Hungarian voters like him so much. Hungary's economy is comparable to its neighbors, actually performing slightly worse. Maybe they just think he's a cool guy.

@matracity3414 Ok, most of what you write is similar to other European countries. Your high number of Nobel Prize winners is hardly Orban's achievement. The only reasons you give for people voting for Orban (rather than some other Hungarian person) are: "he is never against Hungarian people, but protects Hungary and its nation from war, from accusations, prosecutions". Clearly, many accusations are coming from the other EU countries. And protecting Hungary from war? Isn't that why you left the Warsaw Pact and joined NATO instead? The Warsaw Pact didn't protect you from being overrun by Moscow in 1956. No EU or NATO country has been attacked, because we stand together as one. Only Orban seem to want Hungary to stay outside, while still getting the benefits of being on the inside. I respect the choice of Hungarians, but your reasons given are only very soft, emotional reasons. There's nothing really concrete in term of policies that had a specific positive effect on Hungarian society.

@hwoonDeurim At some stage, even the most popular leaders become unpopular. Eventually, people will want a change.

@hwoonDeurim "he is very generous to smaller cities". Huh, that's interesting. So, a classic populist. Those types of politicians seem to gain popularity these years. It's probably a fad that'll last another 5-10 years.

"western controlled Brussels". I'm pretty sure Brussels is in the west, and very much part of the west. It is also the administrative centre of the EU. If anything, it should be "the Brussels controlled west". Finally, it's where they invented the brussels sprouts.
