  1. Indians probably feel the same about China as Chinese people felt about Japan and USA in the 1980s: "How come they are so rich and developed and we are not?" I think all developing countries go through this phase. We all develop at different times and speeds.

  3.  H L  "there have been no more than 3 American astronauts in any of the expedition". I think that is not correct. For a short period in March, 2009 there were 8 US astronauts onboard the ISS. Some had just arrived, while others were getting ready to go back to earth. In total there were 10 people on the ISS at that time.

  4.  H L  There were two missions to the ISS in March 2009: -STS-119, bringing 7 astronauts to ISS, including 6 Americans. -Expedition 18, bringing 3 astronauts to ISS, including 2 Americans. They were only together for a short time before some of them went back to earth. Some of the astronauts mentioned may have arrived on an earlier flight to stay for an extended period. In any case, around mid-March they were all on board. There was also a Russian and a Japanese on board.

  5.  @grouchypatch9185  What do you mean? They were there at the same time. Some of the crew on the Chinese space station are also going back soon, in other words, exchanging crew. It's the same thing.

"fields that can contribute to world peace, help fight diseases, save climate change by employing advanced green technology etc." This sounds very nice, but can you give an example of any space mission from any country from any time period that has ever helped achieve any of these goals? I just don't see any evidence that space travel, and doing experiments in space, can do anything for medical research, world peace, or the climate, and I don't think anybody has seriously suggested that this is even possible. Space travel is primarily about space, living in space, traveling in space. It has little to do with earth.
