A 15 minute word salad of empty social justice terminology, cliches and buzzwords. Almost completely void of any concrete examples of what BLK has actually achieved in the last two years. No word on any discussions with law enforcement or justice dept. to improve the situation. And all mixed in with references to Dakota Access Pipeline, climate change and immigration with no data points presented. How can any intelligent, concerned person be expected to take this seriously?

If he doesn't care, why bother to do the comb-over in the first place? Jared, just shave that head already!

This is such an old talk, and I like to think that some progress has been made since then. Religion does seem to be less important in society and politics than it was in 2008.

He is clearly talking to adults, but the style seems to be designed for primary school children. Are adults nowadays so ignorant, so disinterested in science, so short of attention that they need to be spoken to in this childish manner?

@MrMezmerized You may not have been around in the 90s and 00s, but it was much, much worse then, in my opinion.

A pretty odd thesis, if you ask me. He seems to be taking 21st century aspirations and applying them to pre-history. Or at least, finding examples from pre-history to make a case for more equality. I'd like to see the world more equal, but that seems unrelated to what societies were like 6-10,000 years ago. I mean, what are we learning from this presentation? That some ancient societies were more equal while others were less so? That's not so different from today.

Where did you read that some people in the Ted organization wanted to prevent it from airing?

All it takes is for people and governments to realize that old people are not necessarily obsolete. They may not know the latest technologies, but they have a wealth of experience in work and life. They may not be able to, or want to, work 30 hours a week, but they also don't need to. They've already bought everything they want in life and only need money for food, clothes, medicine, and maybe some travel. They have no interest in buying the latest iPhone or the latest car. They couldn't care less. So they can work, and they are not expensive.
