  1. -The woman featured says she's making "4-5-6 dollars over minimum wage". Minimum wage in Alabama is $7.25 so she makes between $11.25 and $13.25/hour. Working 40 hours a week, that will average out around $490/week, or about $2100/month. - A quick search shows lots of apartments in Huntsville, AL for under $800/month. Some as low as $550.- So housing would cost her 1/4 to 1/3 of her monthly salary. Isn't that pretty normal? Her situation is almost identical to mine in terms of salary and cost. But I've never been without a place to live. Mind you, where I am, there are no homeless shelters, so I'd literally be on the street and sleeping on the street is illegal, so that wouldn't work.
