Most of the aerial footage is from the small, very charming, but also very touristy town of Yangshuo (10 miles or so from the burst dam). Very much worth a visit, and usually not flooded.

It's not a 'colossal' dam, but a small dam holding a small fresh water reservoir for irrigation purposes. Google Maps coordinates for the dam here: 24.683038, 110.523225 (satellite view only).

@sbalogh53 : I find it highly unlikely that the 3 Gorges Dam would suffer from this flood. By the time they designed and built that dam, China's engineering skills were very much up to par.

@sbalogh53 Hi Dexxter, the video you link to does say the 3 Gorges Dam has 'shifted, leaked, and bent', but the article they show as a source says that this was all within normal limits (design limits).

@thomassterling2919 Well, who knows what they're referring to? Time will show what effect, if any, the floods have had on the dam. My prediction is that there has not been a detrimental effect.
