  1. Ukraine contributed forces to the Iraq war. In turn the US guaranteed (inofficialy) Ukraines Security (without plans or means to back this up).

  4.  @nunereclipsereborn  and that was one of the better ideas the Saudis had. However since the Ocupation went not as smothely as advertised, the US had to enlist other forces. And one of the Contributers was Ukraine, aparently bargaining for a US Security guarantee in return (plus economic Benefits). Basicaly they seemed to had a Backdoor to NATO in Mind (All Members would have had to agree on official Membership). That unilateral Aproach is one of the Reasons Germany is so reluctant to step in.
