@savee1 The best intelligence available at the time, strongly suggested Iraq was attempting to procure nuclear technology and fissile material.
He had used Chemical weapons on his own people, On March 16, 1988 the Iraqi military attacked Halabja, a Kurdish town in northern Iraq, with chemical weapons. An estimated 5000 civilians were killed. More than 10,000 were injured.
So, he was prepared to acquire and use, weapons of mass destruction!
Ken Alibek, stated in his book, 'Biohazard' that Iraq HAD been attempting to acquire nuclear material, and nuclear technology from the then Soviet Union.
You may well be thinking, 'Who the hell is Ken Alibek'?
He was the Soviet Union's TOP Bioweapons expert, also director of 'Biopreparat.' That's Russia's top Biological & Chemical warfare institute.
Also, in the book, 'The Dead Hand' (Winner of the Pulitzer Prize) written by David E. Hoffman, interviewed numerous Russian/Soviet sources corroborated evidence of Saddam Hussein attempting to procure nuclear technology and fissile material.
With the collapse, of the then Soviet Union, many Russia scientist were approached by Iraqi government officials, and 'sponsored' to work in Iraq on Nuclear technology.
Saddam Hussein had acquired, important parts required for the development of a nuclear weapon.
It's a shame, your not more well read, and educated. You be aware of the above, if you were! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
