'This needs to be compared against the Russian (Tsar Bomba) record so far, for a fair comparison in this day and age of modern innovation.' Actually, and this may sound counter intuitive, the Tsar Bomba had little military significance. It was constructed as a demonstration of Soviet innovation, expertise & technology, plus, of course, as a warning to 'The West'. The Tsar Bomba was a massive weapon, weighing around 27 tonnes! Delivery of such a weapon, was by a relatively slow flying TU-95V. The delivery of the Tsar Bomba, to it's designated target, would have been fraught with danger, as the opportunity to shoot down such a slow flying plane, would have been high. Most modern weapons, don't necessarily need a high yield, as accuracy and speed of delivery, are considered more desirable.

@Rozanbarvi They are not unnecessary, they hopefully deter an aggressor. That's why they are called 'deterrents'! China & Russia also have HUGE stockpiles.....not just the US!

@Rozanbarvi 'they will get around it as they always did .' Why is Allah punishing the Palestinians? He seems to be protecting the Israelis, as MORE Palestinians have died. 1,400 Israeli deaths, nearly 9,000 Palestinians have died.
