  1. Pausing the video at 0:35, I guessed a circular slide rule. At 2:19, I thought to myself, "And then the rubber band snaps." 15:00 - Yeah, it's literally a different angle because the logarithm operation allows you to spin the × by 45 degrees to give you your +. BTW, what's with those letters on the left end of the slide rule?

  2.  @Mathologer  Thank you, Burkard. BTW, this demonstrates what is known as a "mantissa wheel". And the name "circular slide rule" is a bit of a misnomer. I would have called it a "spin rule".
