  1. You can tell if a cell coverage map of the US is inaccurate just by looking in the area around the border between Virginia and West Virginia. That is the National Radio Quiet Zone around the Green Bank radio astronomy observatory, and if a cell coverage map shows that area to be comprehensively covered, that ought to be a big red flag to you.
