  1. Not to mention the fact that automakers are vehemently opposed to walkable downtowns with good public transport. And it is capitalism that has demonized public transport in most of the US, because capitalism sees public transport as unfairly competing with cars, a product that can be sold en masse for big corporate profits.

  2.  @jacuzzibusguy  Except they're not actually the ones making such a choice. It is the "invisible hand of the market" deciding for them.
