  1. Hilariously it's very easy to lose your ammo too. The mag catch is completely unprotected. A lot of squaddies went into combat and realised they only had the one in the chamber. "Oh shit." TL;DR the L85 is scared it'll get hurt if you shoot it so it sneakily yeets its magazine.

  2. The M16's problems were largely down to bad ammo. With the correct, cleaner-burning ammo it would not have suffered such drastic corrosion and thus malfunctioned so badly.
