Comments by "R" (@rdrrr) on "Why Russians can't play STALKER 2 legally" video.
@Chris-hs8zd There have been 150 safety breaches at nuclear facilities in the United States and 56 accidents resulting in loss of life or serious damage to property, the worst of which was the Three Mile Island incident (which was caused by operator error due to training deficiencies and also reactor design flaws). None of those incidents were as bad as the Chornobyl disaster; there are several reasons for this - low reactor yield, reactor location, reactor failsafes and shielding. TMI is an example of what happens when several things go wrong; Chornobyl is an example of what happens when everything goes wrong.

@TarkBike I wouldn't care about someone's opinion of a movie if they hadn't watched it either. If you haven't experienced something you're just parroting someone else's opinion and that's useless.

@maximvork1190 It is best for every country if the mistakes of the past are dug up and put on trial. That way we do not celebrate the wrong people and needlessly hurt our relationships with other countries. And it is best we teach real history, not a nationalist distortion. That is how we end up with more empathetic, more understanding generations in the future. Many countries beside Ukraine have the same problems, Turkey for example. Until they stop celebrating people like Enver Pasha, the nation has a wound that cannot heal.

Congrats you just bought the CEO a yacht. Good use of your welfare check.
3
@TarkBike "The game's about this but I didn't play it lol"
3
@Oujouj426 And Call of Duty is basically a recruitment ad for the Army/Marines because that's the price IW/Treyarch pay for technical consultancy (i.e. access to cool shit). But that's okay because we're the good guys and everyone we're friendly with is also a good guy. If teenagers are convinced to die for **rael, that's a good thing!
3
@TarkBike Dismissing an uninformed second-hand opinion is gaslighting and strawmanning lmaooooo
3
@DarkLordShade Game development is expensive and funding is needed for an ambitious passion project like Atomic Heart. Sanctions make it difficult for foreign companies to support a Russian developer. So the developers got money from wherever they can to keep the project alive.
3
They still worship Bandera
3
@morokans There was not just one massacre but rather many, well planned and organised throughout Galicia and Volhynia. Bandera was the head of the OUN. He allied OUN with the Germans and carried out their will. He's not a hero.
3
Congratulations on screwing yourself out of a paycheque to buy the CEO a yacht...
3
@serhiy-serhiiv Talking shit about Fallout: New Vegas? That's it, I'm finding a way to donate money to the Russian armed forces
3
@TheStormtrooper00 No, it's because there would be very little market for it. Most Ukrainians can understand Russian; they may not like it, but they can. Very few Russians can understand Ukrainian. It costs a lot of money to hire translators, voice actors etc. It's not an ideological matter but an economic one. Or are you suggesting Atomic Heart not having Lithuanian or Turkish or Serbian or Iranian language options is ideological?
2
Voice acting in Ukrainian only will actually screw over a lot of Ukrainians who don't speak that language, or don't speak it very well Nationalists love to pretend Russian and Surzhyk aren't the majority languages of a large part of the country
2
@polinaporechna2008 It's good that there has been a movement to revive Ukrainian since independence but there are still people of Ukrainian nationality, especially in the East, that don't understand it very well. They should of course try to learn if they can but for older people it can be harder. You are probably more gifted at languages than most, considering your English is excellent
2
@zameion90 It's gonna buy the CEO a yacht
2
@TarkBike "I watched 5 minutes of Citizen Kane and read an online opinion piece about how it's problematic. Here's why it sucks"
2
@Antibot01 Exactly why the halfwits in this comment section hate it
2
@maximvork1190 But you know what his army did to Poles in Galicia and Volhynia...!
2
@maximvork1190 OUN Ukraine still celebrates OUN to this day. There has never been a movement to re-examine their actions and condemn them. Russia is as bad or worse with its denial of Katyn and presenting the USSR occupations as a good thing. But we should not ignore Ukrainian distortions of history either, just because it is politically convenient to do so right now.
2
@morokans Not the same. The Greater Polish Uprising did not involve widespread targeted ethnic violence against Germans or any other minority. The Second Polish Republic was certainly guilty of imperialist, unfair treatment of Belarusians and Ukrainians, but it never engaged in pogroms.
2
@OryxAU So it's cool for Turks to worship Enver Pasha as a hero then? There are many worthier Ukrainians than Bandera, and many worthier Turks than Enver. But still the cults of personality persist, because the government does nothing to stop them, in fact promotes them.
2
Take your medication
2
Bro Russia's jailing anime fans? Okay, I forgive Putin for everything. That's based.
2
@drakashrakenburgproduction5369 Aww, you've been stalking me? You lonely? What's your starsign, cutie?
2
@drakashrakenburgproduction5369 👨❤️👨
2
Based Eastern Europeans. "Is okay, wasn't going to buy game anyway."
2
Well yeah, because the market isn't there. Almost all Ukrainians can speak Russian but very few Russians speak Ukrainian. This means spending money on a Russian-to-Ukrainian translation would be throwing money down a hole for no reason. Remember video games are a product and products have to be sold for a profit. You're acting as if not including Ukrainian language options is a political statement when it's just a logical commercial decision.
2
@vain.a Ackshually all art is peepeepoopoo if you read Hegel you'd 🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓
2
@gerferies No, he just copied and pasted it from his handler in Langley
2
Most games that stay in development for 5+ years are terrible - any development cycle that long is going to be messy, unfocused and wasteful. And it's a good bet that the chaotic environment was very stressful for the development team and management were both incompetent and callous.
1
Voice acting in Ukrainian only is self-defeating, it just means the many people that speak Russian and/or Surzhyk and have little knowledge of Ukrainian are left out. That is a lot of Ukrainians.
1
@polinaporechna2008 You're definitely from Western Ukraine
1
Well, you ain't destined for a career in comedy.
1
@Antibot01 Is called Sinkt-Pitorsborg, proper de-colonized Ukrainian name.
1
@Ali-cya It's equally dumb because Wolfenstein is critical of you-know-who but it's banned anyway because oh my God the no-no symbols will turn our youth into Mustache-man-jugend. Germany is run by Isra'il worshipping boomers. (Odds this comment will disappear despite my careful wording: very high.)
1
@plaguedoctorjamespainshe6009 Based Russian gamers
1
@artnull13 Please log off for a while. Go for a walk in the park. Buy something from a shop and make small talk with the cashier. Please.
1
They'll just pirate it lmao Russian torrent sites are legit af
1
@Knaeckebrotsaege The irony being Wolfenstein is critical of the regime. But the boomers in charge of Germany don't care, they're too busy kneeling before Is'rail to pay attention to anything else.
1
Yes, very patriotic, salo Ukraini etcetera
1
@seendon5394 Governments hate people that attempt to achieve self-reliance and carve out a life outside of the capitalist economic system. You can stock up a ton of tinned food and ammunition and no one's gonna care. But buy your own plot of farmland, a generator and dig a well and you're going to get fucked with. At least the USA is such a vast country it's harder for the government to harass you.
1
@greysnake2903 Yeah the problem with those guys is they think there's some cheat code where if you tell the police they can't arrest you then they won't arrest you. Truth is all governments rule by violence so if the government wants to fuck with you, it will. Governments pretend they follow the "rule of law" when they're in a good mood, but if you piss them off badly enough, even if what you did isn't illegal, you're gonna suffer.
1
@FrógMoThóin Some people are just determined to hate anything that's Russian because that's the cool thing to do. Who cares about context and nuance anyway?
1
@Sneaky_Basket Are you done being mad about nothing? You must be unemployed af if you have time to write grammatically questionable rants like this on the internet
1
@DarkLordShade Gazprom is a development studio now? Really you mean the game's development was part-funded by Gazprom. Well game development is expensive and Russia is sanctioned. To get funding, which as a small developer with an ambitious project you badly need, where do you go? Western venture capital is a no-go. That leaves Russian companies as your only investment option.
1
@DarkLordShade What you mean is the game was part-funded by Gazprom. Game development is expensive and Western funding is a no-go due to sanctions. So you have an ambitious project you are passionate about, what do you do? Get funding from where you can. The way you present events is not fair to the developer.
1
@greysnake2903 I like what you did with my username 🤣
1
@ДанилоЯнчук There's a fun English portmanteau; "slacktivism". It means fake "activism" that achieves nothing and can be done while you sit at home, such as sharing political content on Facebook or, apparently, buying video games.
1
@Sokrates_09 Some buy things they want and then brag about it as if it's charity
1
@ToddHowardKupiSkyrim Is there a Russian equivalent of the English slang "glowie"? On the internet, three-letter agents are called "glowies" because their attempts to stir up trouble are so blatant they "glow in the dark"
1
@acidic3928 I'm from the UK and you're right, if someone breaks into your house, the police will be there in 2 or 3 hours... if you post a tweet the government do not like the police will be there in 15 minutes Lawlessness is permitted but hurting politician's feelings, now that's what's really important
1
This is your brain on nationalism
1
@Mr.LeoNov Some people just want to hate anything that's Russian because that's the cool thing to do nowadays. As soon as they hear someone or something is Russian they switch off their brain and enter caveman mode.
1
@nikolaideianov5092 Cute
1
@KaiserHeinrich Imagine paying like $40 for a game you can't play but maybe you'll be able to play it in 2 years but that's okay because slava ukraini This guy doesn't deserve his welfare checks
1
@drakashrakenburgproduction5369 Passing a comment isn't an argument. Work on your reading comprehension. Have a nice day! 🥰
1
Nah it's fine Russians are well-versed in the ways of the torrent
1
Ancient Uncle Sam wisdom: in any unclear situation invade a Middle Eastern nation (and spy on your own citizens)
1
@vain.a Taping a banana to a wall is a statement about, uh, the nature of art or something, man. I dunno, some arsehole paid a bazillion dollars for it, so it must be art.
1
@gringoamigo8146 Swedes can't understand Danes for shit, actually. Danish sounds like Swedish - except you have no teeth and severe brain damage.
1
@gringoamigo8146 What's your first language? English? Okay cool, so you can understand Jamaican patois then
1
@igorkizejev4967 Makes it even funnier that they scrapped Russian VA. Wanted to look like they were being brave and patriotic without losing a commercial opportunity. Tbh, probably just an excuse to cut dev costs.
1
@KisuMisu-f5m I can smell your unemployment through the screen (week-old remains of instant ramen cups, dirty clothes strewn across the floor and bongwater)
1
@zameion90 Odds are the dude saying that dumb stuff is like 13. Teenagers shouldn't be allowed on the internet
1
@maryanchabursky9148 Ukrainian is still more similar to Russian than English is to Dutch. Lexical similarity isn't the only thing that matters. You have to consider grammar, too.
1
India support Israel completely saar
1
Reminder that Ukrainian also uses the Cyrillic alphabet (albeit somewhat different) Could equally be Ukrainians disappointed with the end-product after many years of development hell
1
Russia inherited the USSR's debts and the USSR paid for cleanup operations, so already done.
1
@krsmanjovanovic8607 This whole damn thing is about the substantial lithium deposits in Eastern Ukraine. America wants them so it doesn't have to buy lithium from Russia and China; Russia wants them so America has to keep buying from them, which is valuable leverage. Peace negotiations organized by Trump are due in January. In all probability, three years of war will end with an uneasy ceasefire that leaves Russia with 20% of Ukraine's territory - including all the lithium. Which is a worse deal than the ultimatum Russia offered Ukraine before this mess. The only real winners here are military contractors. They've made a killing.
1
She actually looks younger than she did 20 years ago. Botox and plastic surgery, I guess...
1
In practice it's STALKER 2 devs: "We won't sell in Russia" Russian gamers: "That's fine we'll torrent it lol"
1
@darthzackariusnickthenamethede Very true
1
@lefunnyN1 Naaaah I'm just not a fan of the deep state Wait until you hear my opinions on the people of talmud
