  1. Yeah yeah he's a meanie. But there's no way to negotiate an end to this war without Ukraine conceding territory and Zelenskyy isn't willing to do that. Trump thought he'd force Zelenskyy's hand. And considering the US has spent like $30bn bankrolling Ukraine Zelenskyy needed a reminder he's not calling the shots. Europe won't defy the US so if Trump says it's over then it's over. He just didn't bother to say so diplomatically.
