  2. ​ @kjensen7819 Same shit as Turks that go to Germany because Turkey is authoritarian and the economy is screwed... and then they vote for Erdogan, the dictator that ruined the economy (Turkish law lets you vote in Turkish elections even if you're abroad). My personal theory is it's a maladaptive coping mechanism - show your support for the "nationalist" forces in your country of origin to assuage the part of you that feels guilty for leaving. You've left Turkey and some part of you feels like that makes you unpatriotic, so you better be the Turkiest Turk that ever Turked in Germany to make up for it!
